Adding star ratings to your Google Ads can catch the attention of potential customers, and showcase the products you’re providing.
Star ratings will show up on the Product Listing Ad (PLA) on the Google Shopping carousel, highlighting to customers that your product is worth their money.
Adding star ratings to your ads is fairly simple. You can add ratings through the Google Ads’ ad extension called “Seller ratings”. The extension is not directly linked to your Google Ads and is instead tied to a specific domain. Google then pulls pre-existing reviews from your domain to include in the star ratings.
Google has three prerequisites to displaying ratings on Google Ads:

Displaying star ratings on Google Shopping also has three prerequisites, although they are a little less strict:

Ratings can be a hugely influential factor when it comes to a consumer making a purchase, with 79% of shoppers saying that they trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.
As star ratings are based on trusted customer reviews, they are a true reflection of your business and the products/services you offer. This will help to inform consumers and show them that you’re already making people happy with your offerings.
Star ratings can improve your click-through rate (CTR): If you have good ratings and reviews for your products, this can make your ad more attractive to consumers, so the chance of them clicking on your ad is higher. A higher CTR can lead to more conversions, making them a great marketing strategy.
Star ratings will also show up on Google Maps, heightening your visibility.
